I have loved caramel corn ever since I was a kid. Anytime I went to a fair or the circus, I had to have some.
Taking that 1st bite of that crunchy, caramely, buttery popcorn made me feel like I was in heaven.
So a few years ago, I remembered my mom making caramel corn once when I was a kid. I called her and she actually still had the recipe. I got the recipe from her and I was on a mission to make the PERFECT caramel corn.
The 1st time I made it, Ummm.... not bad.
The 2nd, 3rd, 4th etc..., still OK, not the best.
I kept making it off and on over the next couple weeks.
Now my caramel corn is crystallizing! You could feel the sugar and see it on the popcorn. I didn't cook the caramel long enough and at a hot enough temperature. So now I'm getting mad! But I'm learning...
But I never gave up! 3 months later, LOL, I became consistent at making it PERFECT!
Then I thought to myself, hmm....., I wonder if I can sell it?
So I started giving my family and friends samples and they loved it.
I went for it and started selling my caramel corn online. But I was scared. What if people don't like it? What if I get bad feedback?
So I opened up a shop on Etsy and listed my popcorn on Ebay.
I heard a "cha-ching" on my phone. I was SO EXCITED!!!
I've been selling popcorn online ever since. And I've added caramels, popcorn balls and lollipops.
I'm still a little peon in this industry, but hey, who knows what the future holds.
I am starting a blog to get some exposure for my products on my website.
I hope I'm an inspiration to others who have food they want to sell online.
All I can say is, GO FOR IT!!!😃😃😃
